Senior Estimator – Cambridge, WI

About The Job:

We are seeking an experienced, driven, and dependable Senior Estimator to join our team. The senior estimator plays a critical role in the planning, estimating, and management of construction projects, ensuring the efficient transition from initial concept to project execution. This individual will oversee the estimating process, provide key input during pre-construction, and manage relationships with clients, subcontractors, and the internal project team.


JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop preliminary budgets, schedules, and project plans using estimating software, historical data, and industry standards.

  • Prepare cost estimates to ensure all necessary costs are covered for materials, labor and subcontractor work.

  • Manage the bidding process for projects.

  • Review drawings for compliance with scope, specifications, and regulations.

  • Solicit bids from subcontractors and evaluate for completeness and make appropriate recommendations.

  • Review all estimates.

  • Build and maintain a strong network of subcontractors.

  • Coordination of scope documents and development of clear bid packages for distribution.

  • Lead the transition of projection from pre-construction to project management.

  • Review all estimates, drawings and project specifications with the PM team.

  • Keep team organized by ensuring project contracts are signed and stored.

  • Identify potential risks and take proactive steps to mitigate.

  • Support sales and business development efforts through estimates and meetings.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:

  • Experience in construction, with focused knowledge of estimating

  • Experience in reading blueprints, specification sheets, manuals and schematics

  • Proficient in software programs, Microsoft Office- word, excel, outlook, etc.

  • Ability to develop and manage detailed project budgets and schedules

  • Valid driver’s license with proof of insurance is required; with the ability to travel within Wisconsin and other states as necessary

Base Salary of $80K-$100K. Previous estimator experience in the construction industry is required. Must be able to work on-site.
