We are seeking a Process Engineer to own defined part families or cells. You’ll create CNC programs and setup standards, validate processes with appropriate inspection (including basic CMM), and drive incremental improvements to throughput, tool life, and yield. You’ll partner closely with Senior Process Engineers on complex launches and adopt best practice standards across your area.

Key Responsibilities
Build & Own Core Systems
CNC Programming & Prove-Out: Develop toolpaths, posts, and setup docs; optimize feeds/speeds and tool selections for assigned parts.
Work-Holding & Setup: Design/maintain fixtures and work instructions to minimize variation and reduce setup time.
Inspection Planning: Define in-process checks and basic CMM routines; ensure alignment with ASME Y14.5 requirements and drawing intent.
Standard Work & Documentation: Maintain travelers, control plans, and setup sheets; manage ECNs in coordination with Quality/Design.
Technical Ownership
Problem Solving: Triage floor issues (chatter, burrs, tolerance drift); apply structured root cause methods and verify fixes.
DFM & Cost: Recommend feature/process tweaks; reduce cycle time, tool wear, and scrap.
Data & Control: Track key metrics (cycle, FPY, tool life); apply SPC where applicable.
Qualifications
3–5+ years in precision machining process engineering or advanced CNC programming.
Competent CAD/CAM (SolidWorks + Mastercam/Fusion/etc.) with prove-out experience.
Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5; able to interpret drawings and tolerance stackups.
Hands-on with at least one major control family (Fanuc/Haas/Siemens/Heidenhain).
Basic CMM experience (operate/run programs; edit simple routines).
Nice-to-Have
Exposure to 5-axis, probing/macros, and lights-out workflows.
Lean/Kaizen experience; familiarity with SPC, capability, and Minitab (or similar).
ERP/MES/QMS experience (e.g., Epicor).
Education
AS/BS in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or equivalent hands-on CNC background.
Tools & Systems You’ll Use/Own
CAD/CAM, post processors, and simulation.
Metrology: CMM (basic), gages, indicators, profilometer.
Analytics: Basic SPC/capability, time studies, tool-life tracking.
ERP/QMS: Routings, travelers, ECNs, FAI documentation support.
Success Metrics
Cycle time reduction and setup time reduction on assigned parts/cells.
FPY increase; scrap/rework decrease with verified corrective actions.
Timely, controlled documentation updates; stable production handoffs.
Rate: $85,000- 110,000
