Summary

Outside Sales at a distributor of electric wire and cable serve the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) market. This is an Outside Sales role, responsible for sales efforts and developing customers to increase the profitable sale of products and product lines in an assigned territory. This role is exempt classification, full-time.


Job Duties

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Follow all Company and Sales department policies; current and forthcoming.

  • Improve their sales skills via self-improvement and embrace coaching.

  • Complete all tasks as assigned, with minimal supervision.

  • Complete, use and master all Rubicon ERP/EDI, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, Call Tracking, Sales Prospecting Activities, trip reporting, periodic sales reporting.

  • Build a pipeline of opportunities in your territory with your assigned accounts and targets. Ensure opportunities are input into CRM pipeline tool. Work with the Inside Sales team to target opportunities and new customers in your territory. Weekly, schedule meetings both virtually and face to face with customers, follow up on open quotes, and schedule new meetings. Work closely with manufacturers and manufacturer reps to target opportunities in your territory.

  • Provide Trip reports from all customer visits, trade events, networking events and to provide receipts for all expenses submitted on monthly expense reports.

  • Analyze data and work with customers on complex supply chain opportunities.

  • Meet and exceed sales and gross profit targets as assigned.

  • Meet and exceed new customer targets.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Daily Job Duties

  • Perform Outside sales visits, daily travel.

  • Prospecting in a variety of vertical markets with all scale of high-volume OEM customers.

  • Proficiently present our product knowledge within wire and cable and wire harnesses discussions.

  • Utilize CRM systems.

  • Outside Sales proficiency, Sells value and solutions not price.

  • Provides monthly reporting to the VP of Sales, forecasting, account statuses, pipeline updates and sales results.

  • Gathers customer inputs for Engr. Dept. to develop drawings for new products.

  • Proven experience increasing, profitable sales by:

  • Growing existing assigned account

  • Expectation to have face to face, or virtual meetings with customers daily and numerous phone contacts to follow up on quotes, schedule new meetings and follow up on customer inquiries

  • Securing new business from 4 new accounts each month

  • Using company CRM, call tracking or similar programs daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly

  • Work closely with customer engineers, purchasing managers, to market through face-to-face meetings at the customers’ locations. Develop multiple points of contact at the customer to drive new projects and grow our position as a valued supplier.

  • Work closely with other departments (Engineering, Production, Finance, etc.) to explain customer needs.

  • Completes other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Estimated 75% travel in territory and 25% or less in office following up on commitments and developing plans.

  • Min. 5 years Prior Sales Experience

  • Reads engineering drawings with proficiency.

  • High level of integrity, seasoned listener, proficient sales contract closer, customer focused

  • Proficient with Microsoft 360, Office, CRM systems and leads management tools will be used every day

  • Ability to work with demanding customers & cooperate in difficult sales situations

  • Excellent communication skills essential, both written and verbal, communicates good and difficult news

  • Valid US Driver’s License.

Salary

Base Salary of $75K-$85K + Uncapped Commission
