The presales engineer is a technically skilled member of the IT sales team who help customers draw up requirements and select the correct products and services. They also assist with technical questions or concerns during the sales process.
Learn and understand the strengths, value propositions, and differentiators of each product
Translate the prospect’s business need to align with the best product
Attend sales calls to help prospective customers choose the correct product or service
Work with sales and delivery leaders to price the product
Work to continually develop product training collateral to drive efficiency in the pre-sales process
Responsible for support of the sales representatives by providing technical knowledge to clients and potential clients
Provides support in both pre- and post-sale by attending presentations, demos, and proofs of concept
4 to 7 years in an MSP or similar
Experience in solution-designing, infrastructure architecting, and project implementation
Good resource planning skills
Experience in moderately complex projects
