The Payroll Associate is responsible for the weekly compiling and processing of payroll.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Weekly in-house payroll processing for 800+ employees including timecard entry, review, check printing and ACH upload.
Multi-Union benefit reporting, payment, reconciling
Multi-state and Federal tax reporting, payment, reconciling
Annual W-2 reporting
Employee PTO, child support, garnishments, 401K
Assist with state and union audits
Respond to inquiries from employees, unions, taxing authorities
Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
High school diploma or equivalent and 2-5 years of advanced payroll. College level courses in payroll, accounting, or business preferred.
Experience processing payroll in construction industry preferred.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
Strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or in a team-oriented environment.
Familiarity with Viewpoint software a plus.
This position operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
