Mitigation Manager - Madison, WI

The Mitigation Manager is responsible for the oversight and management of the Mitigation Department for restoration projects. The water mitigation manager will direct and coordinate every aspect of a restoration project from the moment the job is received to when the final payment is collected.

Working directly for the General Manager, the Mitigation Manager works with minimal supervision and has constant interaction with Mitigation Technicians and customers.

Prior management experience at a restoration, construction, or other high-volume service company is a must. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, and a problem solver. Great communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a steady completion of workload in a timely manner are the keys to success. This is a salary-based position that has bonus opportunities when business initiatives and key performance indicators are met.


Mitigation Manager duties include but are not limited to the following:

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of field technicians, and ensure they are adhering to companywide processes.

  • Develop and hold your team accountable to exceptional performance standards, which includes hiring, training, and corrective actions, setting work priorities, conducting staff meetings, counseling employees, and evaluating performance.

  • Work with the dispatch department to make sure the right technician goes to the right job.

  • Schedule each job that is assigned to the mitigation department.

  • Evaluates workload and schedules service work in a way that best utilizes manpower, maximizes profits and ensures effective work production.

  • Ensure that all customer complaints are acted upon and the results are being monitored.

  • Attend and manage all appropriate department meetings.

  • Attend regular company sponsored training sessions.

  • Inspect work progress, equipment, and job sites to verify safety or ensure company standards are met.

  • Create estimates.

  • Complete monthly expense reports.

  • Manage the sales process, ensure goals and metrics are met monthly.

  • Respond to property damage emergency calls when needed.

  • Manage department expense budgets as well as on job financials.

  • Use company software and other software as necessary to manage projects.

  • Settle all complaints that have not or cannot be settled at a lower level.

  • Making it understood that customer satisfaction is our first priority and that each team member is here to support that priority.

  • Additional duties required as needed.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Ability to provide unparalleled customer satisfaction.

  • High school education or equivalent is preferred.

  • Having an IICRC Certification is preferred.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite and willing to learn industry-specific software, like Xactimate.

  • Prior experience as a restoration technician.

  • Certification in WRT, ASD, FRST

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

  • Proven experience managing projects in the restoration industry, construction, or any home service industry.

  • Experience estimating restoration projects or home service projects.

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a management level role.

  • Experience managing at least 5 employees.

  • Proven experience managing budgets.

  • Experience working in the restoration, construction, or home service industry for at least 1 year.

Physical Demands

  • Medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force routinely, and/or 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Ascends/descends ladders, stairs, scaffoldings, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.

  • Maintain balance in all situations.

  • Push, pull, and frequently carry objects such as tools, materials, and equipment.

  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.

  • Stand and walk for long periods of time.

  • Coordinate movement with eyes, hands, fingers, and feet.

  • See and hear well with or without correction to avoid safety hazards to themselves and others

$65K-$75K
