Summary

The Inside Account Manager is a sales producing position. Prospecting and developing customers’ need into sales orders to increase the profitable sale of product lines “sales orders” against a quota is required.


This role is exempt classification, full time and can prepare employees for Outside Sales or other internal roles if qualified.

Job Duties

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Make outbound calls via telephone and email including cross-sell and up-sell discussions.

  • Complete, use and become comfortable with Rubicon ERP/EDI, SalesForce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, Call Tracking, Sales Prospecting Activities, trip reporting, periodic sales reporting as needed.

  • Prospect for new customers and new sales opportunities. New account prospecting requirements to fill the sales funnel are: 1) Make outbound calls to a determined number of new customers and prospects per month and per day, 2) Follow up on open quotes with customers.

  • Work closely with Outside Sales to coordinate efforts with existing accounts.

  • Develop relationships with multiple points of contact at the customer, primarily responding to all needs from the customer as they arise.

  • Maintain and expand the company’s database of prospects and current customers.

  • Provide reports on prospects, leads and customer contacts, wins/losses.

  • Listen to and assist internal and external customers.

  • Handle and close complex sales deals.

  • Follow all Company and Sales department policies; current and forthcoming.

  • Improve sales skills via self-improvement and embrace coaching.

  • Complete all tasks as assigned, with minimal supervision.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Daily Job Duties

  • Perform direct sales contacts daily.

  • Respond timely to customer requests for quotes, provide shipping notices and proofs of delivery as required or requested.

  • Prospect in a variety of vertical markets with all scale of high-volume customers.

  • Proficiently present our product knowledge within wire and cable and wire harness discussions.

  • Develop sales proficiency, sell value and solutions, not price.

  • Gather customer input for Engineering Department to develop drawings for new products.

  • Use company CRM, ERP or similar programs daily.

  • Work closely with customer engineers, purchasing managers, developing multiple points of contact at the customer to drive new projects and grow our position as a valued supplier.

  • Work closely with internal departments to communicate customer needs/timing/urgency as necessary.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years prior experience in sales role. Sales to technical customers is preferred.

  • High level of integrity.

  • Proficient with Microsoft 360, Office, CRM systems and management tools.

  • Ability to work with demanding customers and deal with difficult sales situations.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Salary

Base Salary of $40K-$55K + Uncapped Commission
